OUR DESIGN PROCESS
1. On-Site Consultation
This is our first meeting with the client and space, which will help us build a detailed and accurate proposal. We will discuss your goals and vision for the property, as well as its challenges, limitations, and possibilities.
2. Pre-Design
After setting up your project in our system, we go back to the site to take measurements, site photos, and an inventory of existing items to be kept as part of the new design (we value family pieces and artifacts that will make your home uniquely yours). Now it's time to model your home in our software.
3. Design Direction
A key stage that defines the project’s aesthetic. We create a concept design document using reference photos and create a mood board that will guide all design decisions, ensuring a cohesive visual language and avoiding ad hoc choices that could compromise the final result.
4. Spatial Planning
If it's a new build or an early stage of a renovation, we create the floor plan and layout to ensure the spaces are functional and flow well in between them. If you already have plans approved by the council, we review and suggest the best furniture layout to suit every room.
5. Design Solution
This stage includes detailed elevations, joinery design, tile layouts, lighting, etc. Each element is coded to link directly with the materials schedule. Joinery design is often especially valuable at this stage.
6. Selections
We produce a comprehensive spreadsheet of all finishes, fixtures, and fittings. Each item is clearly described and linked to specific areas, ensuring the builder can accurately quote, order the items, and build efficiently.
These stages form the foundation of our construction support services. Once the essential building phase is complete, we can later expand into furniture selection, styling, and final touches.
